Geology Manager - Gold Mine  S.E. Asia location

Our client requires an exp. Geology Manager with metals exp.  to provide supervision, direction and management  to the geology department.  Duties include management of geology, resource estimation, grade control and near-mine exploration, as well as make independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of accepted geological techniques to optimize geological knowledge and management of resource assets.

The most suitable candidate will have responsibility to develop and update geological models and validate data

1. ensure systems and procedures are established and followed to ensure the geological data base is accurate, current , complete, and secure.
2. Develop standard operating procedures for tasks within the geology department
3. conduct geological mapping, geochemical sampling and other field
4. provide advice and recommendations to the operational and technical team and ensure that geological faults and hazards are identified and communicated in a timely manner
5. design, set up and manage the data base structure, mine planning support and mapping functions.
6. design, implementation, interpretation prioritization and reporting of drilling programmes
7. reconcile resource model to the grade control model and the grade control model to mill
8. manage the geology functions within cost and budget constraints and bring strong technical competence and team management to work
9. develop a cohesive and effective geology team and ensure that the highest standard of health, safety and environment management are maintained
10. exploration of additional gold resources around the existing open pit resources
11. responsible for all elements of mine geology with a team of staff and developing local staff skills
12. prepare daily, weekly, & monthly & quarterly reports, supporting annual reports
13. responsible for driving safety leadership within the geology department and implementing the mine's safety systems.

Qualifications:

Tertiary degree in Geology

min. 10 yrs of mine geology, grade control, and resource estimation exp. at operating gold mine sites

well qualified with modelling and ore reserve estimation methods and software Exp. with mine sight pref.

exp. with grade control and reconciliation software will be highly regarded

exp. with slate belt style gold deposits preferred.

This position will report to G.M. of the Gold Mine Operation.

Contract Geologist  - Metals  - NTH QLD LOCATION

Our client is a Gold miner in Nth Qld and requires a Geologist for a short term contract.

Prefer direct mining supervision exp. in open pit environment

preferable small scale mining

tight control using pit floor sampling and visual control will be necessary

Crusher sampling and grade reconciliation techniques required.

A geologist with a few years exp. will be considered for this role.

Some lap over into drilling programmes etc.  When mining commences, there may be a need to stay out in a field camp on site.
